Designer – Roofing & Cladding

Location: Warrington (predominantly office-based with site visits as required)
Salary: Up to £55k, dependent on experience.

Due to continued growth, a well-established and successful Building Envelope specialist are looking to recruit an experienced Roofing & Cladding Designer to join their team, with clear potential to develop into a senior role within the business.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the design and coordination of a wide range of roofing and cladding systems across multiple projects. This is a varied and hands-on role, working closely with clients, consultants, manufacturers, and site teams.

Systems Include (but are not limited to):

  • Standing Seam Roofing
  • Composite Cladding
  • Rainscreen Cladding
  • Single-Ply Flat Roofing
  • Hot Melt Roofing
  • SFS (Structural Framing Systems)
  • Full Building Envelope solutions

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce project-specific working drawings and fabrication drawings
  • Review contract drawings and specifications (Architects, Structural Engineers, Steelwork, etc.) and raise design queries as required
  • Attend design meetings (site-based and via Teams)
  • Liaise directly with clients, architects, and consultants throughout the design process
  • Liaise with system manufacturers and suppliers
  • Provide design support to site teams, supervisors, and installation operatives
  • Material scheduling and procurement
  • Site surveys and setting-out when required

The role is flexible, and there will be opportunities to gain experience across other areas of the business.

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a design-related role within the Roofing & Cladding industry
  • Strong knowledge of building envelope systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects
  • Willingness to attend site visits and meetings as required
  • A full UK driving licence.
