‘The majority of our temporary staff have become valued employees’.
We recruit temporary personnel for any role in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, and administration across the West Midlands.
Our service is sensibly priced in a competitive market.
The temporary workers we supply develop into a seamless part of our clients business. This gives our customers the confidence to call on us again and again. Regular people are requested by name.
- The temporary worker is taken to the site to show them the job before they start. This gives them and our customers the opportunity to discuss the role.
- We pay temporary staff on Wednesdays, which our temporary workers appreciate. It means we pick up pay issues quickly mid-week.
- We pick up temporary workers and take them to our clients, at short notice day or night.
- We meet the temporary worker on site when they start work, and liaise with them and the client at the end of the first day to make sure both parties are happy.
- We invoice for the hours worked and nothing more – our fees are totally transparent.
1. The Selection Process
‘To understand the man, you must first walk a mile in his shoes’.
- By visiting our clients we find out what they want, so we can deliver on time and as briefed.
- All applicants paperwork is checked to confirm they have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Interviews are conducted using a structured process to ensure they have the right skills, attitude and motivation for the job.
- Candidates are tested at the necessary level for the job – from dexterity tests and the ability to follow instructions, to working efficiency and personal profile analysis PPA’s.
- Whenever possible we select local people so they can get quickly and easily to the job.
- References on the applicants are taken objectively with previous employers.
2. The Induction Process
‘To know what you know and what you do not know, that is true knowledge’.
- People are properly prepared before they start through our close understanding of the company and the role.
- All candidates are required to watch a health and safety in the work place DVD, which includes manual handling.
- All temporary workers details, which include a copy of their passport, proof of address, photo, certificates, CV, references, and emergency contact numbers are sent to the client.
- We confirm the rate of pay to the applicant, and make sure it meets their expectations.
3. Administration
‘Organising is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up’.
- All clients are issued with confirmation of the rates before an assignment commences.
- We have the ability to pay temps immediately if they need it.
- We invoice for the hours worked by temporary workers from a signed timesheet. This keeps paperwork simple.
- Our week finishes on a Friday which makes it easy to complete and return timesheets.
- The company has a bespoke package that tracks temporary workers, ensuring compliance.
4. Additional Services
‘It is never crowded along the extra mile.’
- Our own receptionist / administrator will cover for clients if they need someone at very short notice in a key role.
- The company offers the consultation services of an independent Qualified Human Resources advisor and Employment Law Solicitor to it clients. This helps clients stop situations escalating.
- We offer refresher courses to crane drivers and forklift drivers when their certificates have expired. This has helped when recruiting for clients in these roles.
- The company coaches and places people who have been referred by our clients.
- In redundancy situations we helped clients by formatting CV’s and coaching the people being made redundant on job hunting.
